The early morning shoot out at the Banjara hills residence of Ex-Minister Moola Mukesh Goud’s son Vikram Goud on last Friday has turned out to be a staged attack with the help of supari gang. Vikram who survived the attack and is recovering at the Apollo hospitals will be arrested after discharge. Police so far took five others into custody from different places in Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh and are looking for two others.

According to Hyderabad Commissioner of Police Mahender Reddy here on Wednesday, Vikram Goud who was in financial doldrums planned the whole episode to gain sympathy from people of his constituency and save himself from financiers who gave him hefty loans that ran into crores of rupees. “Vikram offered Rs 50 lakh to the accused to shoot him and procured the pistol from Indore which was kept at his home till 28 July the day of the planned attack. He even loaded the pistol for the attackers,” the Commissioner said.

As planned the accused shot at Vikram Goud twice all the while his wife Shefali was on the first floor of their posh home. He asked her to get ready to go to a nearby Dargah to offer food to poor people before he came down to the drawing room where the gang was waiting to execute the deal. After completing the assignment they threw the pistol in Hakimpet Lake which was traced by the police on Wednesday morning.

Police said they were suspicious about Vikram’s whereabouts the intervening night and started digging deep after the security guard confessed that he was ordered by Vikram Goud not to lock the main gate. Police said that Vikram spent a major part of the night giving finishing touches to his plan at a guest house in Jubilee hills with the Supari gang. He even asked the gang to empty a round into air to scare his wife or watchmen if they come rushing hearing the gunshots.
