'SAIL plays a vital role in nation building'

Steel Authority of India Ltd (SAIL), the largest state-owned steel making company in the country, had organised the engineers and customers mela at Bheeshma Metals, Antarasanahalli Industrial Area, here recently.

Addressing the gathering at the inaugural ceremony, assistant general manager of SAIL, B K Singh, said, “SAIL, a Maharatna compnay, has earned the trust of the customers on quality front. The PSU has played a vital role in nation building.”

Apart from catering to the needs of institutional buyers like Defence and the Railways, SAIL is successfully servicing the requirements of a variety of customers.

The mela aims at providing information, to the customers, engineers and technicians, about the products of the company, said, the assistant general manager of SAIL.

Senior manager (Marketing), Rajatkumar Naik, speaking on the occasion, said, “SAIL has 37 branches across the nation, including one in Bengaluru. The public scetor unit, over the years, has been manufacturing widerange of quality steel products. Our products have been used for building skyscrapers, bridges, reservoirs, metro rail, rail infrastructure, thermal and hydroelectric plants among others.

The buildings constructed using earthquake-resistant EQR-TMT steel products have the strength and ability to withstand the high intensity tremors.”

There are distributors of our products at all the districts in the state. Such melas are being organised at all district centres, he added.

BJP leader Sogadu Shivanna, in his inaugural address, shared his experience saying, “I have used SAIL steel for my rice mill and other buildings.  “The company manufactures quality products and they are easy on pockets.”

Basanna of Bheeshma Metals, Engineers Association president Ramamurthi among others were present.
