'Reinstall Vivekananda statue at Dantaramakki Kere Dibba'

Block Congress workers staged a protest at Hanumantappa Circle in Chikkamagaluru on Wednesday and urged the district administration to reinstall the Vivekananda statue at Dantaramakki Kere Dibba.

The protestors said that the idol installed at Dantaramakki Kere Dibba does not resemble Swamy Vivekananda at all. This is an insult made to the national icon. Stern actions should be initiated against those who are responsible for the flaw.

The morphed image should be removed and a flawless statue should be installed at the spot, they said and shouted slogans against the BJP.

KPCC general secretary M L Murthy, District Congress Committee president Dr D L Vijayakumar, Block Congress president H P Manjegowda, Youth Congress district Committee president K V Shivakumar and former MLC Gayatri Shantegowda were present on the occasion.
