Dominant KSCA XI trounce Assam

KSCA XI dished out a thoroughly professional display to dismantle Assam Cricket Association by an innings and 167 runs in their opening game against Assam Cricket Association in the Dr (Capt) K Thimmappiah memorial tournament at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium here on Tuesday.

Resuming from their overnight score of 137/3 and still 259 runs adrift of KSCA XI’s score, Assam couldn’t handle the pressure and folded for 229 in 84.2 overs. Tarjinder Singh (94) and Rishav Das (67) showed stomach for a fight but it wasn’t enough as KSCA XI collected seven points.

Shreyas Gopal was wrecker-in-chief for KSCA XI with figures of four for 77. He was ably backed by K Gowtham (3/42) and Ronit More (2/39) as KSCA XI topped the tables after the first round.
