JOIN USPrime Minister Narendra Modi hosted a farewell dinner in honour of outgoing President Pranab Mukherjee in Hyderabad House here on Saturday. He also presented Mukherjee a memento.
President-elect Ram Nath Kovind, the council of ministers and chief ministers, including Nitish Kumar (Bihar) and Naveen Patnaik (Odisha), were present.
Mukherjee will organise a banquet for the council of ministers in the Banquet Hall of the Rashtrapati Bhavan on July 24. He will also organise a special screening of Tigmanshu Dhulia’s film Raag Desh, co-produced by Rajya Sabha TV.
On Sunday, Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan will host a farewell for Mukherjee. A coffee table book with photos and other elements alongside signatures from MPs will be presented to him.
