President's XI emerge champs

President’s XI lifted the Safi Darashah trophy after drawing their final league match against Combined XI at BGS ground on Wednesday.

President’s topped the standings after having gained three points each from their three matches.

After being bowled out for 171 on the opening game of their last encounter, President’s recovered thanks to a fine bowling show from Pradeep T (6/34) to skittle Combined out for 109.

With the innings lead in the bag, Arjun Hoysala (110) and KC Avinash (102 not out) struck tons to power President’s to 245 for five declared.

While Hoysala compiled his knock off 166 balls, Avinash’s came of 140 balls studded with nine hits to the fence.

In response, Combined were at 61 for one when the match ended in a draw.
