Censored bits of Dandupalya-2 leaked; panel registers plaint

The chairperson of the Karnataka State Commission for Women, Nagalakshmi Bai, has registered a suomotu case with the commission against unknown persons for releasing censored scenes from the Kannada movie ‘Dandupalya-2’. The scenes show actor Sanjjanaa in the nude.

The leaked video went viral on social media and was also broadcast on local TV channels. Nagalakshmi said, “I, along with officials from the censor board, was part of the team which viewed the film. We asked that these vulgar scenes be deleted. Now, these clips are being circulated on social media. The person who has done this has to be booked.”  She hinted that it had to be someone associated with the movie who leaked the clip and she said that it seemed to be a publicity stunt.

“I have also sent the case to the cyber police. The police should conduct an enquiry and find the person behind this,” she said.
