JOIN USThe scheduled meeting of Prakasam Trust with officials of the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) over finalising the rent of KH Kala Soudha auditorium has been postponed to Tuesday.
BBMP authorities said the meeting was postponed as the mayor was busy with inspection work. P D Sathish Chandra of Prakasam Trust confirmed the meeting has been scheduled for Tuesday.
Mayor G Padmavathi had called for a meeting on Monday after she inspected the auditorium on Friday. During the inspection, she heard the grievances of theatre troupes who said they will not be able to pay the rent if it is increased from Rs 10,000 to Rs 40,000. The mayor decided that it is best to negotiate on the rent considering the views of senior artistes and Basavanagudi MLA Ravi Subramanya.
The auditorium has been shut down for the past five months over a tussle between BBMP officials and Prakasam Trust.
