JOIN USTwo policemen, of KR Puram police station, nabbed an auto driver and his associate who had robbed an electrical contractor at knife-point on Monday.
The suspects - Sandeep, a daily wage labourer and his associate Lokesh, an auto driver - waylaid Venkatesh who was returning home from work at Medahalli flyover on his motorcycle. They assaulted him before fleeing with his phone and wallet. The victim lodged a complaint with the KR Puram police, who verified CCTV footage, identified the registration number before passing it on to the beat policemen.
On Wednesday morning, constable Srikanth Poojar and home guard Naveen found an auto moving suspiciously in the area and found that the said registration number matched. The duo chased the auto and managed to nab the two thieves.
KR Puram police inspector Jayaraj rushed to the spot and took the duo to the station. The police found Venkatesh’s phone with the suspect.
