Last Updated 03 July 2017, 19:47 IST
BJP state president B S Yeddyurappa on Monday said that he has no belief in pre-poll surveys.

Even if the results of such surveys are not in favour of the BJP, the party workers need not lose confidence as he knows the pulse of the people of the state, the former chief minister told reporters here on Monday.

He exuded confidence that the BJP would come back to power in the state in 2018 Assembly elections by winning 150 seats.

Party workers have already started the campaign to highlight the “pro-people” schemes of the Centre. He would tour the entire state in the coming days to win the hearts of people, he added.

Referring to the iftar party organised by Sri Vishweshateertha Swami of the Pejawar Mutt on the Krishna Mutt premises in Udupi recently, the BJP leader said the seer has tried to strengthen communal harmony in the state through such an act. Nobody should issue statements against the seer. Sri Ram Sene founder Pramod Muthalik must stop making statements against the seer, he said.

Referring to Shruti, a native of Lakkavalli  in Tarikere taluk of Chikkamagaluru distirct, who is in a critical condition after a scuba diving mishap in the US, Yeddyurappa said the parents of the woman are finding it difficult to get visa to meet their daughter. He said that he spoke to the External Affairs Minister Sushma Sawaraj in this regard and, Shruthi’s parents would get the visa shortly to visit the US.
