Senior Samajwadi Party (SP) leader and former Uttar Pradesh minister Tej Narain Pandey alias Pawan Pandey has been accused of sexually exploiting a minor in the state’s Faizabad town, about 125 km from here.
The parents of the victim moved a lower court in Faizabad seeking the registration of a sexual exploitation case against Pandey, reportedly after the local police refused to lodge a case in this regard.
The chief judicial magistrate’s court has admitted the application for hearing and directed the police to file a report in the matter.
The matter will come up for hearing on July 5.
