Man held for molesting 6-yr-old girl

Barely 24 hours after an elderly person was arrested for molesting a minor in Chandra Layout, a similar incident was reported from the area on Sunday.

Abdul Ghani, a worker at a plywood factory molested a six-year-old girl on the pretext of offering her bread. Acting swiftly, the police arrested Ghani who is married with children.

The victim was playing in front of her house when he spotted her. He took her away on the pretext of buying her bread. He took her to his house, locked it from inside and molested her, said the police.

As the victim raised an alarm, a few neighbours broke open the door and thrashed him black and blue. The police have booked Ghani under the Pocso Act.
