To woo tourists, govt announces 50% rebate

To woo back tourists to the unrest-hit Valley, the Jammu and Kashmir (J&K) government will provide 50% rebate from booking a room to a full tour package.

The J&K Tourism Development Corporation (JKTDC) announced the scheme to provide the much-needed fillip to the tourism sector. The corporation has its properties at prime tourist resorts across the state like Gulmarg, Pahalgam, Aharbal and Kokernag.

The JKTDC managing director said that the corporation has an accommodation capacity of 1,750 beds and runs seven restaurants and cafeterias across the state.
