Upset with boyfriend, girl hangs herself

A 21-year-old BSc student committed suicide at her friend’s house in Yelahanka New Town on Friday after her boyfriend refused to receive her call.

The deceased, Binutha Devi, a resident of Thirumala Nagar and native of Manipur, was upset over the troubled relationship with her boyfriend and had gone to her friend’s house.

Her friend tried to convince her that he would come back and advised her not to feel depressed about it. However, Devi hanged herself from a ceiling fan after her friend went out. She has left behind a suicide note stating that no one is responsible for her death.

Yelahanka New Town police have taken up a case and efforts are on to trace her boyfriend to ascertain the reason for her taking the extreme step.
