Parts of Krishna district also touched 47.65 degrees Celsius coupled with hot winds. On Saturday, severe heat turned the two states of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana into  virtual furnaces with no respite even during the night. Air conditioners and coolers were rendered useless in coastal Andhra Pradesh, particularly Nellore, Guntur, Krishna, East and West Godavari districts with temperatures crossing 47 degrees Celsius.
