Union minister Rajiv Pratap Rudy on Wednesday visited the family of Choorakkad Biju, the RSS activist who was hacked to death last week in a suspected political attack in Kannur.

Speaking with reporters after visiting Biju’s home near Ramanthali, the minister said the onus was on the state government to ensure that law and order is maintained in the politically sensitive district. Biju was killed near Payyannur in Kannur on Friday. Two local CPM activists, Raneesh and Jyothish, are in judicial custody in connection with the killing.

The minister took to Twitter to reiterate the state BJP’s allegations of unprovoked violence against Sangh workers by activists of the ruling CPM.

Complaint against MP
A police complaint was filed  against Rajeev Chandrasekhar, Rajya Sabha MP and vice chairman of the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) in Kerala on Wednesday, for sharing unsubstantiated and inflammatory content against the CPM on Twitter.

Chandrasekhar had retweeted a post saying — “Even before funeral procession starts, Marxists attacks hospital, ambulance carrying body of RSS worker Biju Police watch helplessly” (sic).
