A 35 year old man arrested in Bhilwara district of Rajasthan for attempting to make an Aadhaar Card by the name of slain Al-Qaeda founder Osama bin Laden has done it out of curiosity and is found to be mentally fit, police said.

Saddam Mansuri, a Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) operator has been sent to 15 day Judicial custody by ACJM Prashant Kumar on Tuesday. Mandal Deputy Superintendent of Police Chanchal Mishra , Who's also investigating the case told DH, "Primary investigations suggest that Mansuri has no previous criminal record against him. Also we have consulted doctors who stated him mentally fit. We are preparing a charge-sheet against him".

However according to the police investigation the user identification logged in during the process was that of Mansuri.

"Our preliminary investigation suggests that Mansuri has done it out of curiosity and as of now no other motive seems to be there. We are also extracting and tracking all the names of clients he made Aadhar cards for", Chanchal added.

Interestingly the address mentioned in the Aadhaar enrollment form was that of Abbottabad, a town located in north-eastern Pakistan. Police in its primary investigation also found that Mansuri has also uploaded a pixelated picture of Osama bin Laden along with the form.

The incident came into the light after officials Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) had detected it and contacted Rajasthan department of information and technology. "We informed the local police station and asked them to file FIR against him after our technical team from New Delhi found the anomalies highly suspicious and we were asked by our Jaipur Office to get in touch with the police and book him", Sanjay Aludia working at State IT Department in Bhilwara said.

On Monday Bhilwara Police arrested the accused under Section 66D (cheating by personation) of the Information Technology Act and Sections 467 and 468 (forgery) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
