Aniket, Shreyas, Shailendra score brace as MPHA enter quarters

Madhya Pradesh Hockey Academy (MPHA) beat Chhattisgarh 9-1 to book their place in the quarterfinals of the 7th Hockey India Sub-junior National Championship (Division A) here at the hockey stadium on Monday.

MHPA were led by the trio of Aniket Varun (8th, 50th minutes), Shreyas Dhupe (23rd, 29th minutes) and Shailendra Singh (27th, 69th minutes) who slotted in a brace each in the rout. Himanshu Sanik (26th minute) and Bajrang Sain (30th minute) were the other scorers for MPHA while Khilesh Pandya scored the only goal for Chhattisgarh in the fifth minute.

Pool C: Chandigarh: 4 (Sanjay 46th, Sahibjeet Singh 48th, Maninder Singh 66th, Vishal Rana 70th) bt Patiala: 1 (Manpreet Singh 65th); Punjab: 3 (Raman Kumar 17th, Parteek Sharma 52nd, Jaspreet Singh 61st) bt Bhopal: 2 (Amaan Khan 32nd, Saddam A 58th).
