State has witnessed inclusive growth under Cong rule: Mahadevappa

PWD and District in-charge Minister Dr H C Mahadevappa, on Saturday, said, the state has witnessed inclusive and sustainable growth in the last four years after Siddaramaiah-led Congress government came to power.

After inaugurating ‘Jana Mana’ - a special interaction programme with government scheme beneficiaries at Kalamandira here, the minister said, the government’s main intention is to make the state hunger-free and to prevent migration of farmers, and thus Anna Bhagya scheme was launched.

‘Pro-people programmes’
 “Though the state is reeling under severe drought and the farming community is severely affected, the government has tackled the situation in an effective manner. In the last four years, the Congress government has successfully implemented many pro-people programmes and all the 165 promises made in the manifesto have been fulfilled,” he said.

Mentioning about the previous BJP government’s rule, Dr Mahadevappa said, due to internal clash, the previous BJP government saw three chief ministers in five years. “The Congress government is stable as all the ministers have a good rapport with each other. No minister is indulged in any irregularity and have maintained transparency in administration. Our intention is to uphold secular fabric and to eradicate inequality in the state,” he said.

The government is committed to the welfare of the state and the people, and thus it is planning to strengthen its programmes. As much as 75% of the citizens are availing one or the other benefit of the schemes launched by the government, either directly or indirectly, Dr Mahadevappa said.
