Siddaganga Mutt seer Shivakumar Swamiji, who was unwell since morning on Thursday, was doing fine by afternoon. The 110-year-old pontiff is under treatment for fever and weakness. He has been administered intravenous fluids and antibiotics.
The centenarian pontiff performed pooja in the afternoon and consumed ‘prasad’. Doctors suspect he may have suffered infection in the lungs, stomach and kidneys. Blood samples have been sent to the lab for testing. A call will be taken to shift him to a hospital in Bengaluru, based on the report.
BJP leader B S Yeddyurappa called on the seer in the evening to enquire about his health.
