The wait is over. And the vexed question is answered, too. But, why Kattappa killed Amerandra Baahubali is just incidental to the magic that is Bahubali: The Conclusion.

With its sheer grandeur and spectacular special effects, the much-hyped film bests its earlier avatar. Rajamouli and his enterprising team of technology faithfuls ensure that the royal saga is several notches superior to its predecessor, thereby justifying the hysteria surrounding the film for the last two years.

The magnum opus unfolds in fantastic fashion. It’s 172 minutes of pure emotive drama (penned by K V Vijayendra Prasad) as the viewers are treated to breathtaking action sequences. Stunts of the highest order are executed with flawless perfection by action choreographer and stunt coordinator Peter Hein.

In fact, the panoramic battle sequences and captivating cinematography (K K Senthil Kumar) make up for the otherwise routine saga of sibling rivalry, deceit and deception.

Also embellishing Rajamouli’s dream project are M M Keeravani’s symphonic scores and haunting background music (Daler Mehndi’s soulful song merits a mention), and Sabu Cyril’s set design.

After a sluggish start (thanks to a mushy romance) and a few distracting hiccups, the film paces to a cataclysmic climax, all the while retaining the high adrenaline show.

Prabhas delivers as the magnetic lover and valiant warrior, while Daggubati, Sathyaraj (as the loyal retainer Kattappa) and Anushka Shetty (a real surprise) live their roles to perfection. Bahubali: The Conclusion is a marvel of a movie — one to admire and cherish for a long time.
