JOIN USHockey Coorg all but ensured their place in the semifinals of the 7th Hockey India Sub-junior Championships here on Friday, after defeating Hockey Himachal 4-0.
In the Pool C encounter, M K Chetan was the star of the day for Coorg, slotting in a hat-trick in the second half.
N T Tarun kick-started the proceedings for Coorg with a goal in the 17th minute. Later, it was all about Chetan as he scored in the 50th, 54th and the 65th minutes to help Coorg register a comfortable win.
Hockey Coorg lead Pool C with 12 points and require just a point from their last league encounter against Bengal Hockey Association on Sunday. Meanwhile in Pool D, Hockey Bengaluru were held to a 2-2 draw by Hockey Madhya Pradesh.
