Last Updated 28 April 2017, 19:24 IST

Want to speak up against injustice but don’t know how? An exhibition will show you the way to be the change. The two-day exhibition and public conference entitled ‘Crafting Justice’ hosted by Azim Premji University will discuss ways to address injustice, be it in Bengaluru or the country at large.

The exhibition — to be held at Rangoli – The Metro Art Center on MG Road on Saturday and Sunday — will bring together experiential educators, lawyers, researchers and students to share their experience and insight along with discussing the challenges in public policy, civic issues and governance at large. The exhibition will also feature installations, interactive and immersive experiences, documentaries and infographics.

“These days there is a lot of injustice happening around us and we are not able to do anything about it. The idea of the exhibition is to empower the common man by exposing him to potential resources and knowledge and facilitators that would help him stand up for what is right. We want to empower the common man by making him justice-ready,” said Abhayraj Naik, coordinator of the event.

Student-led projects
The exhibition will focus on student-led experience-based field projects that further social justice. The projects that will be exhibited at the conference include engaging with refugee status of Tibetans in Bylakuppe in Karnataka, ecological impact of a proposed port on the Aghanashini river in Kumta taluk of Uttara Kannada district, challenges faced by women migrant labourers from Northeast India among others.

“The exhibition will be a powerful medium of collaboration for educators, NGOs, lawyers, researchers, students and the public at large. We would also be putting up links to valuable know-hows and legal resources on our website after the event that will help anyone who wishes to address an injustice and needs guidance on the same,” Naik said.
