Chandra Layout police have registered a case of suspicious unnatural death of a 38-year-old man whose parents cried foul after the man's wife took his body to their native place in Mandya for performing last rites on Monday.

The victim, Jagadish, had died in his sleep on Sunday, his wife Savithri told the police.

Both Jagadish and Savithri are garment factory employees and are residing at Nayandahalli for the last eight years, the police said.

Savithri found that Jagadish did not wake up from his sleep on Sunday night and realised that he was dead. She took his body to Keragodu in Mandya where his parents live. His parents noticed some injury marks on their son’s neck. They questioned Savithiri and when she had no convincing answers, they informed the police. Jagadish's body was brought back to Bengaluru for postmortem and a case of suspicious unnatural death was registered.
