CM defends pulling up Mandya SP

 Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has defended censuring Mandya superintendent of police C H Sudhir Kumar Reddy at a public programme on Thursday. He said BJP workers carrying black flags had tried to block his car in Malavalli, Mandya district.

The protesters (BJP workers) could have lost their lives had the driver not applied the brakes, he said. “It was a major security breach. I asked the Mandya SP about the security arrangements. Was it wrong? I only instructed the officer to take suitable steps in future. Who would be held responsible for any accident?” he asked.
