Integrated township among two projects worth Rs 5,484 cr cleared

The High Level Clearance Committee headed by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah cleared two new industry projects worth Rs 5,484 crore, including an integrated township in Bengaluru.

GM Infinite Dwelling India Pvt Ltd has proposed to develop an integrated tech park, township, shopping mall, hospitals, in-house residential colony and clubs on a 73-acre expanse at Doddakannelli village in Bengaluru East taluk. The company will invest Rs 4,795.90 crore on the project.

The HLCC approved a proposal by Manjunatha Educational Foundation Trust to establish a medical college, a hospital and a research centre on a 40-acre land in Hassan. It is an initiative by Dr Manje Gowda, son-in-law of Congress leader the late Srikante Gowda. Manje Gowda is a retired state government employee.

Karnataka Udyog Mitra managing director B K Shivakumar said the trust has sought the Karnataka Industrial Areas Development Board (KIADB) land for the hospital project. But the government has not promised it anything.

The HLCC has approved these projects subject to clearance from various statutory agencies, including Medical Council of India. The companies have been given two years’ to implement their projects, he added.

Besides, the HLCC has approved a proposal by Centurion Software Solutions Pvt Ltd to expand the existing IT/ITES office space, residential and commercial space and other facilities at Doddenakundi Industrial Area in Bengaluru. The company will invest Rs 559.74 crore for this purpose.
