Teachers' pay disparity to be settled

Primary and Secondary Education Minister Tanveer Sait said various issues related to pay disparity among primary and secondary school teachers will be settled.

Karnataka State Primary School Teachers’ Association president Basavaraja Gurikara said the minister has promised the office-bearers of the association of informing the pay commission about the issue over wage disparity.

Gurikara said the minister said the issue will be taken up after pay commission gets a chairman by the end of April. “We are demanding pay on the Central scale and a separate scale for primary school headmasters,” he said.
