Roads, bus shelters, buildings in city get a new, clean look

Volunteers under the aegis of Ramakrishna Mission carried out a cleanliness drive in 14 locations in the city.

The members of Team Swacch Garodi carried out the cleanliness drive in Valencia circle, the main road and the adjoining drains. They cleaned the bus shelter, painted and gave it a new look. They erected a board with the message, ‘Save Netravathi’ decorated with graphics on the bus stand.

Team Swacch Kavoor carried out the drive in Bondel Circle and nearby areas. The members removed banners and posters hanging on the streets and compound walls. They cleared sand from the concrete road helping motorists have a smooth ride. Students of Women’s Polytechnic too joined the drive.

At Kadri Park, the members of DK Havyaka Sabha organised the drive between Nantur Padavu and Kadri Park. They removed the plastic carry bags and garbage on both sides of the road and cleaned the drains. Team Friends For Ever took up the drive at Yeyyadi.

Members of Sri Krishna Bhavan Auto Drivers’ Association cleaned the Hampankatta area around Clock Tower. They removed posters on the walls of Mini Vidhana Soudha and removed weeds from the road dividers. They also cleaned the Town hall premises.

At Kottara, members of Kumar Gym Friends carried out the drive. A team under the guidance of Yashwant Acharya cleaned the flyover pillars and painted them with messages on cleanliness. Members of Sri Amba Maheshwar Bhajana Mandir cleaned the area in Jeppu junction and removed posters from compound walls.

The staff of Sri Ram Transport Finance Company took up the drive in RTO Circle and surrounding areas. The residents of Gundu Rao Lane got ample support from local youth to carry out the drive in Mannagudda. Members of Swacch Kotekar team carried out the drive in Kinya Kaikamba area. Members of Swacch Mangalagangothri team took up the drive in Pajeer while Mangalore Seniors carried out the drive in front of KSRTC bus stand. Members of Sharada Mahila Vrinda carried out the drive in front of Ramakrishna mutt and Monkey Stand area. With the help of Rotary Club, the drive was carried out in Permanur area.
