Congress lacks moral right to speak on Ambedkar: BSY

BJP State president and former chief minister B S Yeddyurappa has said that Congress party does not have any moral right to speak about B R Ambedkar.

Yeddyurappa spoke to reporters at Bhagawan Buddha Educational Institution on his way to Kunduru in the taluk on Tuesday.

When asked to react to Congress allegations that Prime Minister Narendra Modi was misusing Ambedkar’s name for electoral benefits, Yeddyurappa said that the Congress had no moral right to speak about Ambedkar as the party did not permit Ambedkar’s last rites in Delhi. The rites were later performed in Mumbai, Yeddyurappa said.

“The state has witnessed its worst drought ever and farmers are ending their lives. Livestock are dying due to scarcity of drinking water. Farmers are demanding waiver of farm loans but the government has not considered it so far. I will tour the state tour from next week to stress upon loan waiver,” Yeddyurappa said.

‘Check migration’
Inaugurating a programme held in memory of Tenkalli Kunduru Betta Rasasiddeshwara mutt seer in Malavalli taluk, Yeddyurappa said that leaders cutting across party barriers, should join hands for the betterment of farmers and check migration of younger generations to cities in search of jobs.

Irrigation projects should be implemented in such a way that it benefits farmers. Scientific price should be fixed for the produce to protect farmers. He said Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be invited to participate in the 110th birthday celebrations of Siddaganga mutt seer Shivakumara Swami.

Suttur mutt seer Shivaratri Deshikendra Swami, Siddaganga mutt seer Siddalinga Swami and seers of various mutts participated in the programme.
