Congress using money, muscle power to win bypoll, says BSY

'Voters will give fitting reply to Siddaramaiah's misgovernance'

“Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has brought his entire Cabinet to campaign for Congress candidates but has failed to get a favourable response from people.

It shows that money and muscle power cannot influence voters. JD(S) supremo H D Deve Gowda has said that Dalits are not with the Congress and Uttar Pradesh Assembly results have proved it,” said, BJP state president B S Yeddyurappa.

Yeddyurappa, who is touring in Nanjangud Assembly (Reserve), on Thursday, said that the Congress-led state government is looting people’s money to invest on bypolls. “Siddaramaiah has brought a few goondas to Nanjangud and Gundlupet Assembly segments to threaten the voters to support Congress candidates. BJP workers should be careful and keep a watch. They should alert the Election Officers if they come across any violation of model code of conduct,” he said.

“The voters will give a fitting reply to Siddaramaiah’s arrogance and misgovernance in the bypolls. The BJP is facing elections as per the guidelines of the Election Commission. We are not luring voters by distributing money,” he said.

BJP Foundation Day

BJP workers celebrated the party’s 37th foundation day at the party office here on Thursday. Yeddyurappa called upon party workers to strengthen the party and strive for the welfare of the nation.

He said, “When BJP was founded in 1980 under the leadership of Atal Bihari Vajapayee, only a few people were in the party but today it has emerged as the largest political party in the world. When BJP was founded, Congress was very powerful and anyone could win elections on that party’s ticket but now the scenario has changed under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.”

Yeddyurappa said BJP will win 150 seats in the upcoming Assembly polls in the state. He called upon party workers to work with commitment and loyalty to strengthen the party.

Farm loan waiver

Yeddyurappa told reporters that he would launch an agitation to ensure that Chief Minister Siddaramaiah waives farm loans.

“The chief minister is claiming that the Union government is not willing to waive farm loans but I will make Siddaramaiah announce waiver of loans,”  Yeddyurappa said.
He said that once bypolls to Nanjangud and Gundlu-pet Assembly constitue-
ncies are completed on April 9, BJP would launch an agitation seeking waiver of farm loans.

Who can defy DKS?
When asked about Power Minister D K Shivakumar’s campaign in the constituency, Yeddyurappa said that, “Shivakumar is a powerful man with wealth and experience in politics. Is it possible to survive by defying him?”

MP Shobha Karandlaje, former ministerS Murugesh Nirani, C M Udasi, BJP leaders D S Veeraiah, C Ramesh, C Basavegowda, N V Paneesh and S Mahadevaiah were also present.
