Three agencies at work to decipher cause of building fire

 Police are awaiting reports of forensic examination, fire safety and electrical inspection to determine the exact cause of the blaze in a four-storey building off Mysuru Road that left two people dead on Friday.
Separate teams from the State Forensic Science Laboratory, the Karnataka State Fire and Emergency Services Department and the Electrical Inspectorate Department have conducted independent inspection at the scene of the fire and gathered samples for further analysis.

Though the fire is suspected to have been caused by short circuit, a senior police officer said that only the reports from the three agencies would reveal the exact cause of the blaze. Police have sealed the building and will take appropriate action once the reports arrive.

The four-storey building, at Vinayakanagar in Old Guddadahalli, housed a foam seat making unit, a duplex and a madrasa. Mohammad Hafeezullah (32), a teacher of Islamic studies, and Mehtab Ahmed (27), who worked at the foam seat making unit, were charred to death in the inferno.

The landlord, Syed Ibrahim Khaleelullah, and three members of his family have been hospitalised.
