Last Updated 26 March 2017, 19:48 IST
Lok Sabha member Pratap Simha on Sunday tendered his apology for his remarks on Geetha Mahadev Prasad, the widow of the late Mahadev Prasad. Speaking to reporters, here, the MP said he did not want to hurt the sentiments of Geetha Mahadev Prasad. “I apologise if she is hurt,” he said.

Pratap Simha said he had visited Mahadev Prasad’s house when he passed away and paid his last respects. However, he said that he commented on her way of approaching the voters.

Pratap Simha, during a campaign on Saturday, had said that Geetha Prasad is contesting the byelection for greed of power. “She enjoyed all the powers when her husband was a minister. Soon after performing the final rituals of Mahadev Prasad, Geetha has joined politics in pursuit of power,” the MP had said.
