JOIN USThe Ramamurthy Nagar police have detained a software engineer for abetting his wife’s suicide on Sunday.
Pradeep Gowda (34), a resident of Vijinapura, was detained after his wife Tanuja (25) committed suicide by hanging herself from the ceiling of their house on Saturday night.
In his statement to police, Gowda stated that his wife committed suicide in the room while he and his mother were watching television in the drawing room. He found her hanging when he went into the room to call her for dinner.
Tanuja’s parents, however, alleged that Gowda and his mother used to harass Tanuja. “Gowda had an affair with a woman. He used to harass Tanuja for objecting to their relationship. His mother backed him and never sent Tanuja to KGF,” they said.
The police have booked Gowda under IPC Section 306 (abetment to suicide) and detained him for questioning.
