Customs SI accused of rape still absconding

A sub-inspector attached to the Customs department, Kempegowda International Airport, who is a suspect in a rape case, is still at large.

Hemaraj G, a native of Rajasthan, went absconding after a CISF woman constable lodged a complaint with Bagaluru police accusing him of raping her by promising to marry her.

In the complaint, the victim alleged that Hemaraj took her to his house at Yelahanka New Town and repeatedly raped her. He did not disclose that he was already married and his wife stayed with his parents in Rajasthan.

“We have written to the Customs Department requesting them to inform the police about Hemaraj’s whereabouts. We will arrest him soon,” DCP (Northeast) P S Harsha said.
