Youth urged to draw inspiration from Chhatrapati Shivaji

 Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj was a great warrior and an ideal ruler of medieval India, said Additional Deputy Commissioner C Anitha.

She said this addressing the gathering at an event to mark 390th birth anniversary of Shivaji, jointly organised by the district administration, zilla panchayat, mahanagara palike, Kannada and Culture department and Karnataka Kshatriya Maratha Parishat, here on Wednesday.

She said Shivaji was secular to the core and called upon the youth to draw inspiration from the deeds and life of Shivaji.

The eminent personalities of Maratha community - Krishnojirao Sonale, Jnaneshwarrao Loute, Gangadharrao Karmore, Hemojirao Sindhe and Bhimojirao - were felicitated with Chhtrapati Shivaji Maharaj Seva awards on the occasion.

Shivananda Shivacharya of Hire Mutt, Kannada and Culture Assistant Director Basavaraj Apinakatte, Maratha Parishat office-bearers Ranojirao Sathe, Sureshrao Sathe, Bhainojirao, T R Venkatrao Chawan, N Nagesh Vanse, Nageshrao Gayakwad, Janardhanrao Sonale, T V Srinivasrao Salunke, Sureshrao Sonale of Shivaji Credit Co-operative Society among others were present.
