Four farmers of Beladhadi Lambani tanda in the district have alleged that their names have been misused in the public interest litigation filed in the High Court of Karnataka, against declaring Kappatagudda as reserve forest.

Speaking to journalists on Friday, Thakur Singh Malagimani, Hanumappa Poojara, Mahantesha Tualsimani and Srinivas Malagiani said Venkatesha Dasara, the district president of Farmers and Agricultural Labourers’ Welfare Association got their left thumb impressions on a blank paper promising them title deed, but used the blank paper for filing the PIL.

“We had no idea that the matter was pertaining to Kappatagudda. Our village does not come within the limits of Kappatagudda. Some leaders of our community who read the news about the high court granting interim stay in the matter, found our names in the list of petitioners. Only then we came to know that our names have been misused,” they said. They said that they were prepared to withdraw their petition.

Meanwhile, Ravikanth Angadi, president, district Banjara Association, said Advocate General R Madhusudha Naik had served as legal adviser for Baldota company.
