Pandey to lead State side in Vijay Hazare

Manish Pandey will lead the 15-member Karnataka team in the Vijay Hazare Trophy in the absence of regular skipper R Vinay Kumar through injury.

The tournament will be held in Kolkata from February 25 to March 6.

Robin Uthappa, who missed the South Zone leg of the Mushtaq Ali T20 tournament, returns to the squad and he will do the wicketkeeping job as well with regular stumper CM Gautam too being not available due to an injury.

Pacers A Mithun and David Mathias are also recovering from injuries.

All-rounder Stuart Binny, meanwhile, makes a comeback after missing Mushtaq Ali owing to injury.

Leg-spinning all-rounder Shreyas Gopal, pacer Prasidh Krishna and batsman Rohan Kadam have made the cut for the tournament.
