CCB raids brothel disguised as spa

The Central Crime Branch (CCB) has rescued six women, including three Thai nationals, who were forced into prostitution at a massage parlour in one of Bengaluru’s poshest neighbourhoods - Sadashivanagar. 

Central Crime Branch sleuths raided Shivai Thai Spa at RMV Extension, Sadashivanagar, and arrested its manager, Jenny S, 25, a native of Ukhrul district, Manipur, and two suspected human traffickers — Sirajuddin, 38, from Dharmanagar, Tripura, and Angchchukar, 28, from Guwahati, Assam. They rescued six women, three each from Thailand and Nagaland, and seized Rs 1.28 lakh in cash and eight mobile phones. The spa’s owner, Madhusudhan Paul and Prince Gupta, are absconding.

The Central Crime Branch said Sirajuddin and Angchchukar had promised the women lucrative jobs but pushed them into prostitution. The spa charged hefty fees for the women’s services, but paid them far less.

‘Opium peddler’ held
Police have arrested a suspected opium peddler on second main road, Timber Yard Layout, Mysuru Road.

Lalaram, 19, a native of Rajasthan, was reportedly waiting for a customer when he was caught by the police. The police have seized 108-gram opium, a mobile phone and cash from him.
He told the police that he had procured the banned substance from a man in Rajasthan.
