History-sheeter killed as goods vehicle hits motorcycle

A 29-year-old history-sheeter was killed in a road accident at Hampi Nagar near Vijayanagar on Tuesday morning.

Police said the deceased is Girish Kumar, a resident of Rajajinagar. He was unemployed and there was a history sheet against him in the Kengeri police station. Around 7.30 am, a speeding scrap material-laden truck that was coming from the opposite direction hit Kumar’s motorcycle. Kumar sustained severe injuries and was shifted to a nearby private hospital. He was declared brought dead. Vijayanagar traffic police seized the truck and arrested the driver Moham­med Sageer, the police added.
