Bangalore City XI emerge U-14 champions

Bangalore City XI emerged champions by virtue of a first innings lead against Combined City XI in the final of the KSCA inter-zonal under-14 cricket tournament at the AMC Engineering College grounds here on Monday.

Batting first, Combined City posted 186 in 71.4 overs, with Syed Qanit scoring 63. For Bangalore, Vishal Kumar (2-19) and Aryan Joshi (2-28) took two wickets each.

In reply, Bangalore rode on half-centuries from Chinmay Amanagi (89) and Yashovardhan Pratap (54 n.o.) and handy knocks from Ajitesh G’s 40 and Aryan’s 35 to score 292/8 in 90 overs.

They led by 106 runs before the match ended as a draw.  For Combined City, Ayush Kumar B (3/89) and Suhar Purushotham (2/27) shared five wickets amongst themselves. 

Brief scores: Combined City XI: 186 all out in 71.4 overs (Vishal Vilas Botare 31, Syed Qanit 63; Vishal Kumar S 2-19, Aryan Joshi 2-28) drew with Bangalore City XI: 292/8 in 90 overs (Ajitesh G 40, Chinmay Amanagi 89, Aryan Joshi 35, Yashovardhan Pratap 54 n.o.; Suhas Purushotham 2-27, Ayush Kumar B 3-89).
