Sadashivanagar police have recently registered a case against Indian Institute of Science (IISc) Director Anurag Kumar along with four others.

A senior police officer said, “Sanna Rudrappa, a former faculty at IISc, had recently approached a local court and claimed that he was framed falsely in a sexual harassment case and was dismissed from the institute without conducting an enquiry. He was ill-treated as he was from a lower caste. The court which looked into the matter, directed the Sadashivanagar police to register an FIR against the director and four others, who are working in IISc. The case will be investigated by a team headed by an Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP).”

“Sanna Rudrappa had approached the court claiming that some IISc employees had planned to remove him from the job. They accused him of sexually harassing the students and defamed him. The case is being investigated and people responsible for the act will be arrested at the earliest,” the police officer added.
