Colourful procession marks Eid-e-Milad

 Muslims, in large numbers, took out a procession as part of Eid-e-Milad festival here on Tuesday.

The islamic devouts who gathered near Hande Choultry on M G road. took out a rally that was colourful with green flags, portrait of erstwhile ruler of Mysuru Tipu Sultan and placards highlighting the preachings of Prophet Mohammed Paigamber and renditions in arabic singing paeans of the prophet.

Tableaux recreating popular shrines Mecca and Madeena were taken out during the procession. Nayeem, a boy dressed as Tipu Sultan, was the cynossure of all eyes.

Muslim leader Haji Yusuf, who addressed the gathering said, “The procession is being taken out to spread the message of peace of Prophet Mohammed Paigamber to the world.”

The procession was organised jointly by Khalandaria Daff Samiti, Badria Masjid, Anjuman Islamiya, SIAS, SSF, JMFC, SBS among other organisations.

Following the procession, the district administration had made elaborate arrangements, diverting them towards alternative route against IG road in the wake of ongoing Datta Jayanti. Nevertheless, the change in route inconvenienced vehicular users.

SSF leader Muneer Ahmed, SF state unit vice president Dohas Abi, Noor Ahmed and several other leaders took part in the rally.
