Udupi-Chikkamagaluru MP Shobha Karandlaje has challenged Chief Minister Siddaramaiah to immediately sack Ministers H Y Meti and Tanveer Sait for their unconstitutional and indecent behaviour.

Speaking to reporters, she appealed to media not to release the video clippings in which Minister Meti is seen seeking sexual favours as it is too vulgar to be shown in public domain.

She said the Siddaramaiah-led state government is most irresponsible government Karnataka has ever seen.

The MP said the Siddaramaiah government has only indulged in blame game. The funds released by the centre have not been properly utilised and the funds available with the state government have not been released to drought-hit areas, she charged.

Karandlaje said already 137 districts have been declared as the worst drought affected areas. The number will increase as several districts did not receive rain at all, she said.

She said the chief minister has visited Delhi only three times though the state is reeling under worst drought situation. He is too idle and leaves the meeting in a hurry, she charged.

She said nearly RS 22,000 crore earmarked for the rural development and rural drinking water programmes has been misused in the state and it has been openly accepted by the concerned minister. The case should be handed over to CBI, she demanded.

She said Yettinahole project is another blunder and the government is spending Rs 4,000 crore without any guarantee on the availability of water under this project. The blacklisted companies have been given work contracts, she charged.

She also criticised the government for dismantling the Lokayukta institution and bringing in ACB, which is toothless and a puppet in the hands of the Congress-led government.

Lauding the demonetisation move of the Union government, she said fake currency notes are being slowly wiped out.

Expressing apprehensions over walkouts and adjournments of Loka Sabha proceedings in the winter session, Karandlaje said Congress members are responsible for the adjournment of Lok Sabha daily.

The MP said Rs 250 crore has been released to Udupi-Chikkamagaluru Lok Sabha constituency under Central Road Funds. In this, Udupi district will get a lion share of Rs 200 crore. The Union government has announced support price for the arecanut. Rs 251 has been announced as support price per quintal of white arecanut and Rs 272 for red arecanut under marketing support scheme, she said.

She said a delegation comprising former chief minister Yeddyurappa has demanded a permanent sea wall against the sea erosion.
