A trailer of the upcoming Kannada film ‘Operation Alamelamma’ is making waves in social media. The trailer has overtaken the teasers of ‘Spider man-Homecoming’ and Hindi movie ‘Raaes’ on YouTube in Karnataka.

Suni, who had earlier directed the critically acclaimed hit movie ‘Simpallag Innondu Love Story,’ has directed the film. Within 48 hours of the release, more than 70,000 viewers have watched the trailer on YouTube and other social media platforms. As on Sunday, the movie teaser was seen trending in second spot on Youtube, all India.

The film trailer that has newcomer Manish Rishi in the lead, essaying the role of a vegetable vendor, was released at Kurubarahalli market, keeping the hero’s character in mind.

A thriller movie, the film has given a platform to newcomers like Rishi, producer Amrej Suryavanshi and cinematographer Abhishek Kasargod. ‘U-Turn’ actress Shraddha Srinath has also been roped in to play a pivotal role in the film.

Director Suni told DH, “It is my first attempt at a thriller. The hero is falsely accused in a case of kidnapping and gets trapped by the police. What happens next forms the storyline. The film runs for two hours and 13 minutes and is set to release in January-end.”

He said that the response was overwhelming. On the highlights of the movie, Suni said, “We have shot the movie at Russell Market, Madiwala market, Visvesvaraya Museum, Avala Betta and other places. We started shooting in May and completed it in September. The film gives a glimpse of Bengaluru to first-time visitors.”

The film trailer comes with English subtitles and the movie can be followed on the Facebook page - Operation Alamelamma Kannada Movie.

‘Operation Alamelamma’ was supposed to release in December. However, it has been put on hold due to demonetisation. The release has been postponed to January-end, when other big banner movies too are set for release.
