Rashtriya Military champs

Rashtriya Military School and St Francis Xavier Girls High School emerged overall champions in the boys’ and girls’ categories respectively in the Deccan Athletic Club’s Weekend meet, sponsored by Deccan Herald and Prajavani, here on Sunday.

In the boys’ category, Rashtriya Military finished with 6260 points, ahead of Bishop Cotton Boys’ School (2435) and Vidya Niketan School (2415).

In the girls’ section, St Francis Xavier clinched the top spot with 5890 points. Holy Angel’s Higher Primary School (3050) ended a distant second while Vidya Niketan (2590) settled for third.

On the fourth and final leg of the meet here at the Sree Kanteerava Stadium, Neole Anna Corneilo of St Francis Xavier, who had emerged winner in the previous three legs, finished on a high with a gold in the U-12 100 metres in a time of 12.9 seconds. 

Vidya Niketan’s Bhagwan Kripa Mehta (U-16, 100 metres) and Samhithaa VS of St Francis Xavier (U-15, 100 metres) also triumphed in all four legs.
