Dutch artist Geesink Robert William, who had settled in Hampi 40 years ago, passed away at the Vijayanagar Institute of Medical Sciences on Friday in Ballari. He was 73. He is survived by wife and four children.
Robert had vividly recreated Hampi on the canvas. His paintings were unique and were exhibited in Spain, Morocco, Delhi, Vadodara, London, Paris, Amsterdam and other places. Police said his funeral will be performed after receiving permission from the Dutch embassy.
