JOIN USRakshit B and Swetha K bagged the men’s and women’s singles titles in constrasting fashion in the CVL Sastry memorial State table tennis championship here on Thursday.
In the men’s final, Rakshit hardly broke a sweat before beating Anirban Tarafder 11-8, 11-4, 11-7, 11-5.
In the women’s final, Swetha rallied from a game down to overcome Kushi V 7-11, 11-8, 11-9, 11-1, 10-12, 11-5 in a six-game thriller.
Swetha dropped the first game 7-11 but won the next three 11-8, 11-9, 11-1 to take a 3-1 lead. Kushi then reduced the deficit to 3-2 with a 12-10 to win in the fifth game. However, Swetha refused to lay low and bounced back to clinch the decider 11-5.
Meanwhile, Skies ‘A’ claimed top honours in the Team championships with a 3-0 win over Canara Bank.
