Bengaluru-headquartered Teleradiology Solutions (TRS), a healthcare firm in the telediagnostics space, aims to double volume and add more hospitals to its kitty.

Talking to DH, on the sidelines of TeleMedicon 2016 conference on Saturday, Teleradiology Solutions co-founder Dr Sunita Maheshwari said, “Currently, we are generating 2,500 patient-reports per day. We want to double that volume. We have partnered with over 100 hospitals, globally. In India, we work with 60 hospitals, and plan to reach 150 hospitals in India and Africa within three years.”

The company has 450 employees and has offices in Hyderabad, Delhi, and Mumbai. “The US is by far the biggest market accounting for more than 40%, followed by Europe (29%), Asia Pacific (20%), and Africa,” she said.

On revenues, Dr Maheshwari said, “This year, we will be a Rs 100-crore company. Last year, we achieved revenues of Rs 82 crore. Till date, the company has invested over Rs 150 crore in building a 70,000 sq ft facility at Whitefield, technology development, and clinic, among others.”

“Our company has evolved from teleradiology to telehealth. In the last 10 years, we have been working on teleradiology. We do reporting on CT/MRI scans, X-rays, MRIs, Ultrasound, and ECG, among others, for hospitals in 16 countries,” she said.

When asked on the accuracy of the report, Maheshwari said, “Risk is the same like the doctor who is on-site. Any doctor can make a mistake. However, based on our experience, teleradiology results are more accurate, as the radiologist is more focused and not interrupted.”

“For instance, even in the US, the accuracy rate is 96%. Teleradiology Solutions’ accuracy rate is 97.5%, and we are above average,” Dr Maheshwari claimed.

Time line
The average turnaround time for most of the TRS reports is 45 minutes. For stroke cases (10 minutes), and for clinic settings (two hours).

“We work 24/7 with a dedicated call centre to get patient data. We have 50 radiologists and 35 transcriptions. We use voice recognition system of radiologists to generate report,” she said. According to Dr Maheshwari, “We are a zero-debt company, and will use internal accruals for expansion. We have no fund raising plans at present.”

First time in India, the company is working with the Tripura government to offer teleradiology solutions where all district hospitals will be covered.
