Last Updated 11 November 2016, 21:16 IST

‘Limitless,’ a documentary made by a group of women from Bengaluru, encourages women to chase their passion for running. The 60-minute film, produced by city-based Indian Amateurs Runners Trust (IART), also captures the achievements and struggles of women runners.

The English movie traces the success, difficulties and journeys of eight chosen women runners from across the country hailing from different backgrounds, Two of them are from the city — 60-year-old Sharada Venkataraman and 32-year-old Saloni Arora.

“We chalked this out a year ago and began shooting in January this year. In the first week of October, the film was screened in the city to a closed audience. The objective of the documentary is to encourage women to take up running and help runners tackle the problems they go through by showing them the successful stories of a few runners,” said Ashok Nath, Executive Trustee, IART.

Vaishali Kasture, another trustee, said that this is the second time a documentary has been made by the IART. The first movie which the trust made was also based on running, titled ‘Two Feet to Fly,’ a tale of five runners, both men and women. “Slowly, times are changing and running as a sport is not just limited to men. Women too are taking it up seriously,” she added.

IART, a not-for-profit trust, started in the year 2000, has been hosting various programmes to encourage running as a sport in India.

The movie ‘Limitless,’ directed by Vrinda Samartha, will be screened at St Mark's Hotel, St Mark’s Road on November 12 between 3 pm and 5 pm. The IART plans to screen the movie in Delhi, Chennai and other cities in the coming days.
