JOIN USThe Tavarekere police have registered a case against five persons of Masti Gudi film unit for negligence in connection with the drowning of two actors Anil and Uday while performing a stunt at Thippagondanahalli Halli lake on Monday noon.
The police said that based on a complaint filed by Anusuya, director of Thippagondanahalli reservoir, Bangalore Water Supply and Sewerage Board (BWSSB) lodged a complaint against Sundar, producer of the film, Nagashekar, director, Siddu, assistant director, Ravi Varma, stunt director and Bharath, unit manager.
Based on the complaint, a case has been registered under IPC Section 188 (Disobedience to order duly promulgated by public servant) and 304 (Punishment for culpable homicide not amounting to murder), added the police. A senior police officer said, “The video footage of the incident is being examined and we have taken the statement from some eye witnesses who were at the spot. The film unit has clearly flouted the rules issued by the BWSSB, which has led to the incident. Adequate precautionary measures were not taken during the film shooting.” The Tavarekere police are investigating.
